On Dec. 21, Thin Film Electronics ASA (“Thinfilm”), a global leading business in near field communication (NFC) mobile marketing and smart packaging solutions, announced that Mundipharma became the new client in the OTC (over-the-counter) healthcare market. Mundipharma is a physical medicine company in many regions such as Latin America, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.
Mundipharma will use the total NFC solution of Thinfilm to deploy and manage consumer-focused mobile operation activity and promote its BETADINE® Cold Defence nasal spray product in the beginning of December. In this activity, clients can easily gain interactive packs of products by smartphone, in order to replace the prize. The prize includes an all-expenses paid trip for two to a Manchester City soccer game in Manchester, England. The NFC-powered activity was hold in Singapore’s new Changi Airport T4 that known worldwide as a flagship terminal for innovation and new technology on December, 21st and end on February 28th.
The smart packet of BETADINE® Cold Defence will adopt the NFC SpeedTap tags of Thinfilm. There is only one identifier in each tag and totally integrates with Thinfilm’s CNECT™ cloud-based software platform. Mundipharma will use a custom dashboard within CNECT to execute the mobile campaign, monitor consumer tapping activity, manage tag IDs, aggregate data and analyze results.
Raman Singh, the CEO of Mundipharma, said “We are looking for a new and funny way to interact with clients. The ground-breaking partnership with Thinfilm is the newest achievement in a series of projects we deployed, in order to supply a better result to clients and patients by using technology. It is very attractive that NFC make we directly communicate with clients one to one by smartphone. We are very glad that the solution of Thinfilm is driving the success of this competition.”
The activity also leverages the global partnership between Mundipharma and Manchester City, with BETADINE® serving as the Club’s Official Healthcare Product Partner. This mobile marketing initiative is part of Mundipharma’s broader tries hard to transform itself into a world healthcare technology organization. Mundipharma originally launched BETADINE® Cold Defence earlier this year in select markets in Asia.
Davor Sutija, CEO of Thinfilm, said “Connecting the digital worlds and physical is becoming a more common practice among leading brands looking to fuel consumer engagement. Mundipharma’s NFC mobile marketing campaign is a great example, and we’re glad to be working with them on this important project and others in the future.”
