NFC-enabled Paytm Tap Card Allows Offline Payment

Paytm launches Tap Card, a new payment mode, which will launch the first real offline payment solution. It’s a card using NFC technology on the Point of Sale (PoS) terminals with the company authorise for non-Internet user.

According to the company, Paytm Tap card can achieve convenient and safe digital payment with the help of NFC technology, and can be used offline in the PoS terminals of Paytm. To make a payment, user can scan the QR code on the Tap Card and via any adding value machine (AVM) to confirm the adding money from Paytm account. It also resolves the problems related to any internet of clients or businesses.

Paytm will hold the first step activity that cooperated with business and educational organization to achieve fast digital payment. Clients only need make payments by tapping the cards in the business terminals. They also can make a payment with the Tapping Card, even they without carrying their cellphones.

Kiran Vasireddy, COO of Paytm, said: “Many people do not access to the Internet or they have limited daily budget, so they wouldn’t like to pay online. Indeed, we are launching digital payment actively to user from all walk of life. For them, we provide the Paytm Tap Card to enable seamless offline payments. For ensuring a wider acceptance, we are also reaching out to the merchants and are actively enabling them with NFC PoS terminals to accept payments without Tap Card.
